Spartans Sing at Busch Stadium Event FAQ

Q) When is the date of the game?   A) The game is on August 9th @ 6:15 and they play the Cubs.

Q) Can my student participate?   A) For this event, any K-12 student may participate (unfortunately no Pre-K).  Students who wish to participate will be required to have a ticket and be accompanied by an adult who arranges for transportation.  Students also must be in good standing at school in regards to behavior, and must complete practices of the song. We have a 400 ticket allotment and they will be sold on a first come first serve basis.

QHow and when will my student “sell” tickets?  Will we be required to handle tickets or money?  A) Students will have a pledge sheet, where people sign up with an intent to buy tickets.  At a later date we will host a ticket pick up night where tickets are paid for and picked up.  The only time you would need to handle tickets or money is if you offer to buy and pick them up for others on your pledge sheet. We will start the ticket selling process soon, and we will be posting information informing everyone when the dates are finalized.

Q) I  have so many questions,  who do I contact?  A) Bill Knowles at the Jr. High School (309-772-3123) or knowlesb@bpcschools.org.  We also will be putting out more and more information, updating the FAQ and if needed, hosting informational meetings.

Q) How many tickets do we have to sell?  A)  As a school we need to sell 400 to meet our obligation to perform.  Students are encouraged to sell as many tickets as possible.  The Student who sells the most tickets will receive 1 of 3 Field visits.  The other 2 spots will be won by students who sell tickets.  Students will have a chance put into the drawing for every 10 tickets sold.  Names will be drawn for the chance to visit the field during pregame before the Anthem (possibly during batting practice).

Q)  Does my student have to sing for us to go?   A) No, you can buy tickets and your family and your student can choose not to participate.  You will be sitting in one of the Bushnell blocks of tickets.

Q) Why does selling more tickets help the school?  A) There are a number of benefits that come with us selling more tickets.  1) Moves us up the ladder for choice of games and songs to perform at future games. 2) Qualifies our students for better add ons (additional field visits, possible first pitch and other opportunities). 3) Provides a fundraising opportunity for our school.  Our ticket sales from last year, played a huge role in gaining the opportunity to sing the National Anthem this year.

Q) How much are tickets/ Where are they located?  A) Tickets will be be $50 dollars each.  We have tickets in Sections 129 and 130. We are selling them at over a 40% discount from face value.  Again, tickets will be first come, first served.

Q) When can I sign my student up?  A) We are sending letters home starting this week so be on the lookout.

Q) What happens if I sign my student up, and find out we have to change plans?  A)You can cancel at any time.

Q) What happens if we buy tickets and then find out we can’t go?  Can we resell them?  A) IF you purchase tickets and find out you cannot go, you can resell them individually.  Per our agreement with the Cardinals you may not use a secondary market service Stub Hub or Seat Geek.  They track the activity of those sites and the tickets that are listed for sale there, and if our tickets are flagged online it can jeopardize future opportunities.  If you have purchased tickets and cannot use them, please contact the Jr. High office if you need assistance.

 Q) Can we buy tickets direct or from a different source and have our students perform?  Unfortunately no.  Our school is only able to perform at the game due to our ticket sales.  So to be included in the performance group students would need to purchase tickets through our group.

 Q) Can we request seats or sections?  If noted on the ticket sales sheet, we try to seat groups together.  If your group/family wants to sit with another, we do try to accommodate but cannot guarantee that will happen.  Otherwise due to the number of  tickets we sell we cannot fulfill requests for section, seat location or exclusions.
