B-PC Junior High Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am so excited to get started this year, and I am looking forward to serving junior high students, staff, and families. We have many exciting changes coming to the school as new carpet and flooring have been installed throughout the building, our fire alarm system has been upgraded, and the custodians and summer maintenance crew have done an amazing job of painting and reorganizing the building. These changes will help us create a clean and safe environment that supports learning and creates a sense of pride in our building among staff and students.
The Junior High School will see changes to the daily schedule as well. Our school day will begin at 8:00 am and students will be dismissed at 3:05 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will, once again, dismiss an hour early, at 2:05, each Wednesday to support teacher development. Students will attend 12 periods each day with Language Arts, Literature, and Math courses meeting twice each day. As a staff, our goal is to increase academic growth in these areas through increased interventions and the implementation of new curricular programs and research-based instructional strategies.
Education is my passion. I have served the Bushnell-Prairie City Junior High School community for nearly 25 years, and it is my mission to continue to make a positive impact on the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students. Please reach out to me with questions, concerns, or ideas for providing a top-notch education for ALL B-PC Junior High School students. I am thankful for your support, and I am #Proud2BPC!
Let’s have a great year!
