B-PC Elementary School Principal's Message
Welcome to Semester Two of the 2020-2021 school year! It is an honor to introduce myself as principal of the Bushnell-Prairie City Elementary School. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them an excellent learning environment.
I am joining the elementary school with almost 30 years of experience in education. My career began in the Yorkwood School District where I taught various grades in both elementary and junior high, and had the opportunities to coach basketball, volleyball, and track. In 2005, I accepted a position as a Freshman English Teacher at Elmwood High School. While there, I also coached girl’s basketball. I joined the Bushnell-Prairie City School District as high school principal in 2015 and have served as both junior high and high school principal since Fall 2017.
I am very proud to join the PK-5 school community and am looking forward to working with our students and their families. I believe in all children and their ability for growth. By setting high expectations for learning in a positive environment, children will thrive and feel successful. It is my goal to ensure that every student is provided a high quality education in a safe and supportive learning environment. To do this, I also believe requires teamwork. Working with staff, parents, and the community, I am committed to helping each child achieve their best academically, socially, and emotionally. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you, and I thank you in advance for welcoming me to the elementary school.
As we move through the remainder of our year, please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation and positive input as we work together throughout this semester. Let us always remember that we all want what is best for each of our students and place the focus on this outcome. I look forward to celebrating many successes during 2021.
